SMILING EYES
BRIDGES TO THE BLUES
Bridges to the Blues is a multigenerational (must be at least 12 years old) program that pairs Chicago Musicians from multiple genres and diverse backgrounds to reimagine the blues.
Participants in the program are invited to collaborate on new original music in order to audition for an opportunity to showcase at the historic Chicago Blues Festival in Millennium Park. Program Participants will learn Blues Fundamentals, Song-Writing and Performance Best Practices and they will have the opportunity to audition to perform at the Historic Chicago Blues Festival. This program is supported by Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events (DCASE) and facilitated by Art of Culture Inc. Bridges to the Blues runs in the Spring and culminates at the Chicago Blues Festival.
TEENS IN THE PARK (TIP) FESTIVAL
TIP Fest is presented as part of the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series. Arts programming in neighborhoods across the city advances the goals of the Chicago Park District and the Chicago Cultural Plan. TIP Fest hosts a number of auditions around the City of Chicago as well as artist development workshops. TIP Fest culminates in a one-day festival in downtown Chicago where the winning artists from the city-wide auditions showcase in front of our 1,000+ crowd. TIP Fest also showcases resources for youth. Please check back in the Spring of 2020 for details regarding TIP Fest.
